The Dailies. June 17

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. Today I did a little tinkering with my language and successfully translated a cute sentence from a challenge on reddit called, “A child asks you…”

    kʰa, kaura harl-i ikʰi shotʰupʰi lin-hunu-mela-shan?   father.DIM Q be-1SG.M.PRS one monster-M.SG your.MASC.2SG-bed.F.SG-DAT-under   Dad(dy), is there a monster under your bed?

I also created ten words since the last time I posted:

kʰeso (v.t.) to scratch, claw; 1sg masc kʰesin  pʰalaro (v.t.) to invoke, call upon; 1sg masc pʰalarin  hunu (n. fem) bed; pl hunune  solʰabu (n. fem) moss; pl solʰabune  peikʰali (n. masc) bad omen; pl peikʰaleni  shotʰupi (n. masc) monster, beast; pl shotʰupeni  dʰosima (n. neut) shoe; pl dʰosimane  mashtʰa (n. neut) world; pl mashtʰane

It feels great to see my language improve. I am also part of the 24th Conlang Relay from the CONLANG-L. Wish me luck!
