The Dailies. September 1
Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?
On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?
How did you conlang today?

The only thing I did over the course of the weeklong house closing/move out process was figure out that if one dialect pronounces “ch” as x and the other as tʃ, then it must have come down from a k. But it’s going to be a k1, k2 scenario because both languages still have a healthy “k” in their modern forms.
Can you walk me through why that makes you know they came from a k? I’m not quite good enough as phonology to figure it out.
Basically, that’s the only natlang ancestor I found in common for both phonemes’ potential family trees. K can become x or ch, but all the other things that can become either only show up for one, not both.
Ok, I see. Thanks!
