The Dailies. November 10

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. I’ve almost managed to add verbal transitivity to my Firen sentence generator, so it’ll stop assuming all verbs can take either 1 or 2 argument. It requires increasing the number of categories verbal roots are sorted into from 4 to 7 and nearly doubles the number of support nodes needed for the verbal phrase structure, which is why I wasn’t able to finish in the hour or so I spent on it today. But I’m much closer now than I was, all that remains really is to apply the voice stuff to the new paradigm, which is just formulaic. (I also just noticed that I never finished implementing agreement, so it is only choosing inanimate nouns no matter what gender they should be. So that’s another thing to fix tomorrow.)

And also, I coined a new word, since I haven’t done that in a while: ruttaṙtif /ʀútːɑɚ.tiɸ/, “number”.
