The Dailies. May 27

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. Another Sunday, another stream! I got back into Laesh-enne for the first time in months today, which was a lot of fun! I didn’t really make anything new, just typed up some notes from before and added some words to my dictionary. I have more stuff on this language than my notes show tbh, because everything’s so spread out across files and all.

        1. My notes are so scattered. I have literally hundreds of index cards with notes on them around and about a third of them are used for Firen, plus I have multiple notebooks and a graph paper pad I used for some charts, among lots of other things. I like to write on physical paper first because it’s just less annoying, and then I can collate it electronically later, but I never get around to that.

Plus I have notes scattered among a collection of text files and pages on my website and on my personal wiki. And actually more than I realize is scattered in Discord chats. I should get a general outline for a reference grammar and start on filling that out, probably as a wiki page. And I need to write a proper dictionary (maybe cloning Wiktionary’s format? I don’t know much about how people write dictionaries for conlangs.) and figure out some way to write a reference on the script, though I actually have that pretty well memorized by now.

Maybe a proper discussion post is due for talking about note organization?
