The Dailies. June 11

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

      1. Thank you!

I always knew that adopted parents were a little different but the other day I figured out why: biological parent terms are literally based on the biological function those parents fill and are genderless. Any of the dragon genders can be the parent that carried the baby to term and any can father one. Adopted parents don’t fill either biological role and there’s no stereotype for which parent is which gender to provide an analogue, so they ended up with their own gender-based terms.

Those terms probably rose out of some other words, but I don’t know which yet.
