The Dailies. October 1

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. So taking a look at the evolution of pronominal and prepronominal prefixes in Iroquoian languages so I can see how morphonemic changes work and apply them to Akachenti.

Also made notes on the registers in Modern Akachenti so I could see logical backtracks for sound change order that would give rise to the current sometimes grammatically triggered, sometimes vowel length triggered nature of the registers and how they are or aren’t generalized.

The grammatical trigger is a fairly certain indication of lost consonants. The vowel length trigger is kinda weird. And the low tone resulting from vowel length triggered breathy register triggers moving from patientive tense register pronominal markers to modal register oblique ones. This makes no sense. Still digging.
