Lexember 5

Welcome to the Lexember Challenge!

Every year, conlangers can take the opportunity for the month of December to challenge ourselves to add a new word to our conlang’s lexicon.

What word have you coined today? Any cultural or associated worldbuilding notes? Tell us about your inspiration!

  1. I did my word early (read: before 10 pm) today!

    Ulya /ulja/ = Day

    Ultshe /ultʃe/ = night

Both derived from ul = light, in the (possibly no longer productive) essive and adessive cases! I’m toying with the idea of a translative and excessive from the same root for dawn and dusk, respectively, just for fun! heh

  2. I am late again today, and if I were wiser I’d’ve cut my losses and gone to bed already and done two tomorrow. But, I’m not that wise, so here I am.

    • fadivi, v. /ˌfaðiˈvi/ “to harvest, to reap, to capitalize on”.
