Lexember 13, 2019
Welcome to the Lexember Challenge!
Every year, conlangers can take the opportunity for the month of December to challenge ourselves to add a new word to our conlang’s lexicon.
What word have you coined today? Any cultural or associated worldbuilding notes? Tell us about your inspiration!

ūkūgō: to celebrate, have a party
Ūkūgōbon ūkdok ōwēm fon dūmonodi efdo. I will celebrate Christmas with my parents.
Which bit is Christmas and what’s the etymology of that in your conlang? 🙂
Christmas is “ūkdok ōwēm,” “holy birth.” (ūkdo: to be born).
I had originally made ezje (ezje) for fire but after consulting my dictionary I discovered I already have æmha meaning fire. I don’t think my dictionary is big enough for straight-up synonyms yet, so I decided to redefined ezje as hearth or cooking fire.
