Lexember 2, 2020
Welcome to the Lexember Challenge!
Every year, conlangers can take the opportunity for the month of December to challenge ourselves to add a new word to our conlang’s lexicon.
What word have you coined today? Any cultural or associated worldbuilding notes? Tell us about your inspiration!

My word yesterday was ighrip meaning “to fall”, with the very simple example sentence “ighripwyn” “I fell”.
Alongside my daily words I’ve also set a goal per week for general dev for 3 of my conlangs, Læsh-enne, Orklang and a new plaything in the form of trying to build a Betazed (from Star Trek) conlang for a fanfic I’m writing. My goal for the week for the Betazed language (not yet named) was to pull out phonemes from canon names and start a phonetic inventory and then add phonemes to it to flesh it out. Technically I need to double check the pronunciation of some one-ep characters’ names but I’m basically done w that.
For Læsh-enne my weekly goal was to figure out word order and whether making it an erg-abs system would help w my WO inconsistencies. It did not, but I have at least settled on the basic WO being (O)V(S) (S can be omitted if it’s obvious from the V), with VO being occurring at least w impersonal Ss.
So with sloppy transcription because i’m in a rush:
ema:m yhwa: = she/he/sing-they has/have food
ema:m yhwa: mijat-hme = my friend has food
yhwæ: ema:m = there is found (impersonal)
My goal for Orklang this week is just to do some housekeeping in the files and move words to the dictionary, which I haven’t done yet but it’s en easy enough job, hah.
