The Dailies. September 1, 2022

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. Okay, so on Courtly, have a basic nominal paradigm:

nominal case S. SP. NDEF. S. NSP. NDEF. S. DEF. P. DEF. COLL.
saro NOM./GEN. saro saroim saroi sarobi sarobit
saro ACC. saron saronim sarony saronebi saronebit
saro DAT. saront sarontim saronty sarontevi sarontevit
saro VOC. saroha sarohaim sarohai sarohabi sarohabit
abi, what NOM./GEN. abi abyim abyi abivo
    abivi
    abivod
    abivit
abi, what ACC. abin abinim abiny abino
    abini
    abinod
    abinit
abi, what DAT. abint abintim abinty abinto
    abinti
    abintod
    abintit
abi, what VOC. abiha abihaim abihai abihabo
    abihabi
    abhihabod
    abihabit

I’m happy with where verbs are headed but have a little more to nail down before posting them.

Technically, I should start writing corpus test sentences, as I definitely have enough grammar to do it, but I’m hoping to nail verbs first still.

      1. Probably more than 20, but those are the core cases. Pronouns tend to have both genders in the plural and collective, so they get a couple extra forms.

Adjectives agree in number and gender but not case or usually definiteness. Adjectives also have more variations on paradigms, so there’s some depends on the adjective going on.
