  1. Just a couple new words:

    1. aemiets – n. male significant other
    2. taemiets – n. female significant other
    3. duuso leshes – lit. “quiet mind,” referring to 1. one’s poker face, so to speak, i.e. the ability to keep one’s own counsel, and not express one’s thoughts or emotions unintentionally, whether through translation by the Knowing or just giving anything away to people who know one’s tells; 2. one’s reserve, considered a desirable lack of openness and excessive expression of emotions or opinions

    1. There we have the word to express restraint! I love that it means ‘quiet mind’.

      I also really like that there are single words to express ‘significant other’ – I assume regardless of formality to the relationship, or…?

      1. Yes! I’ve got a couple more, but I gotta hammer out the reflexive form of verbs to put them down.

        And also yes! Significant other whether it’s a fling, a serious courtship, or your actual spouse. That’s your man / woman.
