The Dailies. June 11, 2023

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. So supposedly I was going to work on verbs. That didn’t happen. So just one vocab for Kofnea-Kolos:

    • esuetse – adv. belonging to, from among those with, with. Note: distinguished from ietse, which indicates ‘with’ or ‘togetherness’ but not ‘belonging’ or ‘membership’

      1. I’m not entirely sure yet.

I know that ietse is itself derived from “iets”, that is “side” or “beside”. I actually suspect from my own sense of how they derive words a lot of times that esuetse is derived from “su” + “ietse” as that fits on all counts. The whole “su” root that gives the sul / osol fractional construction seems to be pretty old to me, so I’m guessing I’ll see more of it popping up.

I’m pretty sure the “ge” root is a little younger, though it’s parallel in many cases, but as -ge, it’s also starting to take over some of the “membership” words and constructions that used to go strictly to older terms, and it’s even picking up some “membership” meanings, despite being an associative nonfractional variation in its primary usages.
