The Dailies. July 1

Did you work on your language today? Create any new rules of grammar or syntax? New progress on a script? New words in your lexicon?

On the other hand, do any excavating or reading or enjoying stuff you’ve already created? Do you have any favorites to share?

How did you conlang today?

  1. Inspired by the color week challenge! How to stack adjectives together to create phrases like “light red”? What if the modifying adjective derived from a noun…?

    From dumo (sun) and yūyē (water), we get dumohak (light, adj) and yūyēhak (dark, adj); things that are left out in the sun get paler in color and things that absorb water get darker. These adjectives follow the adjective they modify;

    mekyē nōyag yūyēhak: a pink shirt (“light red”)

    On a completely different aquatic note:

    imifū: dropoff (underwater)
